The gateway supports LTE Cat 7 with download speeds up to 300 Mbps and 150 Mbps upload speed. When using five LTE modules in parallel the bandwidth will be increased up to 1.5 Gbps. Four SIM sockets per LTE interface offer multi-provider support or least cost routing.
A fast CPU enables the full throughput of 1.3 Gbps of the WLAN standard IEEE 802.11ac with 3x3 MIMO and when used simultaneously in the 2.4 and 5 GHz range (dual-band mode) of up to 1.75 Gbit/s. The wireless access point is backwards compatible with Wi-Fi standard IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n for older end devices and a longer range.
Dual radio version with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz standard. 802.11ac uses the 5 GHz band and is backwards compatible with 802.11n with 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz for older end devices.
Two free sockets allow specific I/O expansions such as additional Ethernet ports or m.2 SSD's.
An optional internal SSD in the m.2 form factor enables storage and access to local data such as timetable information, videos, etc.
The integrated ultra-wide-range power supply is fully compliant with EN 50155, Class S2 and tolerates interruptions of up to 10 ms.
For long backbone distances daisy chaining can be applied by bridging two Ethernet interfaces eliminating the costs for external switches.
The bypass function ensures signal transmission within the backbone even if one of the gateways connected in series fails.
Easy-to-use web interface for easy remote configuration of the gateway, monitoring of settings, and for installing updates. Maintenance and monitoring of the devices via remote control systems are also possible with SNMP and shell scripts.
A configurable firewall protects personal data of client devices against unauthorized access (client isolation) via multi-level client/AP isolation and supports the secure and interference-free data exchange with the Internet. Unauthorized access is prevented both to end devices that have dialed into the same gateway and across devices to end devices that are logged into different Westermo Eltec gateways.
The wireless gateway is designed according to the international standard EN 50155. Components have to meet the strictest environmental requirements, e.g. an extended temperature range. In addition, they must be resilient to shocks and vibrations.
