The multi-user MIMO (4x4 MU-MIMO) according to Wi-Fi standard IEEE 802.11ax enables even faster surfing. This increases the previous maximum throughput to 4.8 Gbit/s with four streams per module and when used simultaneously in the 2.4, 5 GHz and 6 GHz range (triple-band mode) up to 10.7 Gbit/s. The wireless access point is backwards compatible with Wi-Fi standards IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac for older end devices and a longer range.
For infrastructures with high data throughput, the high-end version of the access point is equipped with two 10 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces.
Triple-radio version with 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz standard. Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) extends the frequency range by using additional unused frequencies in the 6 GHz band, which creates more space for additional clients. It also reduces interference.
The integrated ultra-wide-range power supply is fully compliant with EN 50155, Class S2 and tolerates interruptions of up to 10 ms. As an option, power can also be supplied via Dual Power over Ethernet (PoE+ or PoE++).
For long backbone distances daisy chaining can be applied by bridging two Ethernet interfaces eliminating the costs for external switches. The optional ByPass relay function ensures continuous Ethernet connections, even if one device in the row fails.
The optionally available bypass function ensures signal transmission in the backbone even if an access point connected in series (daisy chaining) fails.
The Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) offers intelligent monitoring and analysis of the boot process, temperature and voltage limits and creates logs in its own memory. In the event of a deviation from the specified parameters, various actions are available as a reaction. The BMC thus improves the reliability, efficiency and security of the access point.
Easy-to-use web interface for easy remote configuration of the access points, monitoring of settings, and for installing updates. Maintenance and monitoring of the devices via remote control systems are also possible with SNMP and shell scripts.
A configurable firewall protects personal data of client devices against unauthorized access (client isolation) via multi-level client/AP isolation and supports the secure and interference-free data exchange with the Internet. Unauthorized access is prevented both to end devices that have dialed into the same access point and across devices to end devices that are logged into different Westermo Eltec access points.
The TPM 2.0 module ensures a variety of features, such as secure authentication with secure key management and cryptographic functions as well as secure boot processes. TPM increases device security by protecting against unauthorized manipulation.
The access point is designed according to the international standard EN 50155. Components have to meet the strictest environmental requirements, e.g. an extended temperature range. In addition, they must be resilient to shocks and vibrations.
